While the staff at Carriage Stone is dedicated to a serious approach to riding and horsemanship, we are looking forward to enjoying a variety of activities with our clients. 

2010 SUMMER RIDING PROGRAM

We are making some positive changes to our summer program. We want to bring a fresh perspective on good horsemanship while adding some new activities to make it a fun experience for riders of every level of ability. In the past our "camp" program was geared more toward the beginner riders. While we've still got that group covered, we've also got a few tricks up our sleeves for the advanced kids! Day-trips, guest clinicians and optional schooling horse shows will all be new features to our summer program.

Time: 8:30a to 12:30p Monday through Friday

Schedule:

June 28 - July 2 - "School's Out !" Week - What a fun way to jump into summer break! Designed to introduce newer and/or less experienced CSF riders to our summer program. All ages and abilities are welcome. We'll have fun stuff for the more advanced riders, too.

July 19 - 23- Combined Training - Fun and intensive session of flat work with focus on equitation and riding precision patterns. For our jumpers, daily work on effective riding over a course. Participants in this session will have the opportunity to attend and participate in the Schooling Dressage Show at Fox Ledge Farm in East Haddam on Weds. July 14.

July 26 - 30 - Horse Show Prep - A hit in previous years, this week will focus on all aspects of preparation and participation in horse shows. Show grooming, schooling and ring etiquette for flat and over fence classes will be covered. A schooling show will be held at the end of the week for riders to utilize their acquired skills!

August 16 - 20 - Combined Training - Fun and intensive session of flat work with focus on equitation and riding precision patterns. With hopes of working with riders that participated in the first Combined session, an advanced approach will allow riders to try several horses through each revolution.
