Meet Our Instructors
 |
Rick Caldwell,
Instructor & Trainer
A teacher in the classroom and in the riding
arena, Rick Caldwell brings to CSF 35 years’
experience successfully coaching and instructing
young people. Comfortable in several disciplines,
Rick was short listed for the 1980 Olympic 3-Day
Squad on his own “Black Irish,” competed homebred
“Friar’s Lass” through Prix St. Georges in dressage,
was a graduate “A” pony clubber, and personally
coached nationally recognized event riders Fanny
Lee and Sarah Hansel. Rick was the Director
of Riding at The Ethel Walker School for 12
years and is still and active competitor on
his own “Olmsted” which will run its first FEI
1* in July 2010. He was the organizer and show
manager of The Ethel Walker Fall Horse Trials,
Fall Indoor Show and Simsbury Spring Show for
over 12 years. He was instrumental in bringing
the Interscholastic Equestrian Association to
New England hosting annual shows and coaching
several teams to national finals.
Prior to his coming to CT, Rick owned Wildcat
Mountain Farm in Washington, VA, where he stood
the TB stallion “White Friar,” hunted with Rappahannock
Hunt, and was District Commissioner of Old Rag
Mountain Pony Club. He taught social studies
and English in Fairfax County VA for 17 years.
Rick is presently preparing to test for his
USEF Eventing Technical Delegate license.

Jessica McLain,
Instructor & Barn Manager
Jess has been a key player in our lesson program
and has been instrumental in growing our program
into one of the largest and safest around.
With a renewed focus on theory and progressive
riding instruction, Jess continues to expand
her knowledge-base and offer it in fun, upbeat
lessons. Jess has recently assumed the position
of barn manager and has had a very positive
impact on our facility and boarding program
in a very short time.

Alison Coe-Roraback,
Instructor & Trainer
Alison's accomplishments in the AQHA and hunter
rings are impressive with wins and top-ten
placings at some of the largest and most prestigious
shows in the country. Her training and showing
career spans two decades with success in both
hunter and western disciplines. Alison is
available for lessons, schooling rides and
horse evaluations.
